Pro Faux Spatula Bases may be more widely known as "Venetian Plaster". Our products are user-friendly acrylics that take high pigment loads for virtually unlimited color range and saturation. ProFaux’s Spatula Bases are generally applied with blue steel spatulas in a cross-hatch manner. Two coats are applied thinly over a flat latex primer that has been tinted to the approximate color of the ProFaux Base color.
While these products stick well to almost any substrate, they perform better over flat grounds(i.e. flat latex primer or paint works the best). All colors are made from NeutralBase or WhiteBase. Deep colors such as the RedBase and BlackBase are actually made from the NeutralBase at the factory to save you time. All our bases can be intermixed and tinted with Universal Colorants. These liquid Colorants are available at quality independent paint dealers.
